Associate Coordinating Producer | Full-time

The Role

Forkast is looking for an Associate Coordinating Producer to join our growing editorial team, with an immediate start.

You will be responsible for helping with the coordination of video productions and projects at Forkast and provide support in all aspects of the operations, administration, planning, and production for video content output. You will work with the video production team to assist with producing multimedia news and social media videos that are distributed across partner channels, as well as publishing video content to our website.

As associate coordinating producer, you will have a great eye for detail, the ability to spot mistakes, and be excellent with time management and adhering to strict deadlines. You are often involved in the critical stage of working on the finer details of each project before content is published and liaise with other team members to facilitate the timely and error-free publishing of all content at Forkast.

Responsibilities

Your role will include the following:

  • Work closely with the producers, liaising between team members and communicating details, to ensure the end result is a unified piece

  • Manage and upload video content to our website and YouTube channel. This includes accurately tagging content with keywords and setting up YouTube videos for publishing.

  • Tracking and assist with project managing the stages of video productions

  • Video support, oversee transcriptions, creating and cleaning up scripts, and ensuring successful upload

  • Assist the production team with delivering assets to various OTT channels as required. This may require doing manual analysis and checks to ensure all metadata (filenames, airdates, guests, descriptions) meet client specifications

  • Manage and resolve incoming requests from the production and editorial teams on a day-to-day basis

Qualifications

  • At least a year’s experience in newsroom production or similar

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree required

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment — hungry and willing to roll up your sleeves

  • Must be highly detail-oriented and have excellent time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills (native English fluency is preferred)

  • Familiar with AP Style writing

  • Familiar with YouTube backend for digital publication

  • Skills in data analysis and data compilation are a bonus but not required

  • Flexible and focussed on solutions

  • As this would be a remote position, our ideal candidate must be a self-started who is organized, self-sufficient, and can work independently

People Operations Lead | Full-time

The Role

Forkast is looking for a People Operations Lead to join our fast-growing team, with an immediate start. You will shape and develop HR policy, guidelines, and procedures, and manage recruitment and hiring. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the future of Forkast.

You will partner with the Operations team and be responsible for managing all operational aspects related to HR, overseeing recruitment, hiring, and onboarding, working closely with team leads throughout the process. Empathy is a must; you will also have a great eye for detail and be able to identify areas for process improvement.

Job Duties

  • Support the development of HR policies and procedures and collect data to build, improve, and operationalize internal processes, including developing metrics for performance management

  • Lead and implement the recruitment process, working across teams to understand needs and goals

  • Source and identify candidates, interviewing and assessing skills, advising hiring managers and onboarding successful candidates

Job Duties

  • Oversee copyediting needs as a second-in-command to the Managing Editor, and be able to take on copyediting duties in the Managing Editor's absence

  • Copyedit Forkast.News and Forkast.Insights (research reports) content, including news, deep dive analysis, newsletters, research, op-eds, videos, and graphics for style, grammar, punctuation, spelling, consistency, tone, and clarity

  • Maintain relationships with our editors, journalists, producers, and freelancers on the editorial team

  • Monitor and maintain copyediting standards across all produced content

  • Copyedit and caption photos, credits, and captions for accuracy and relevance

  • Growing the audience (organic traffic, social media, and subscribers) through SEO keyword research, headline A/B testing, and other strategies is a huge bonus

  • Select and optimize graphics that accompany stories and content with basic photo editing skills is a bonus

Qualifications

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, unstructured startup environment – hungry and willing to roll up your sleeves

  • At least 2 years experience writing and copyediting for a digital media publisher and/or newspaper / magazine

  • Strong news judgment and sense of journalism ethics

  • Ability to edit stories with a critical eye and for the big picture — spot holes if reporting is incomplete, work with writers to restructure stories to improve clarity and do occasional rewrites if necessary

  • Strong sense of journalistic integrity and experience maintaining style and standards for a newsroom, with an excellent eye for grammar, spelling, syntax, and writing for clarity

  • Desire to build and develop an editorial team's capabilities from the ground up by improving workflow and copyediting techniques that better serve our staff and audience

The Role

The Role

Forkast.News is looking for a Production Support Intern to join our growing editorial team. The internship will provide an inside look at what it's like to work at a fast-paced startup and is designed to provide students with real-world experience and exposure to working in the digital media industry.
