Forkast.News is looking for a Motion Graphics Designer to join our team. An ideal candidate is a self-starter who is consistently trying to push the boundaries of their creative work. This role will be mainly focused on creating short explainer-type videos along with supplemental motion graphics assistance needed on other projects. This role reports directly to our Executive Producer and Creative Director and will collaborate on looks, stories, and ideas through treatments, moodboards, storyboards, scripts, and concept videos.
Our content is watched by top institutional / retail investors, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives. Your content will be shared across multimedia channels of print, video, and podcast, and will have a big impact on our audience’s experience!

This is a remote position. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
Help collaborate on and develop content including: explainer videos, promotional videos, partnered content, virtual webinars, website GIFs, social media videos
Ideate styles and themes through moodboards
Create presentations outlining themes, patterns and ideas regarding video concepts
Create storyboards outlining the story and motion throughout the video
Communicate with team using Slack and email
Strong understanding of Motion Graphic - behavior, pacing, speed/velocity
Strong understanding of Design - typography, color, layout, balance
Experience with Figma, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro, Slack is essential
Experience with Photoshop, Indesign, Canva is preferred
Experience in creating explainer videos
A strong desire to learn, contribute, innovate and grow our content quality
Highly detail oriented, responsive, and have excellent time management skills
Thrives in a fast-paced, decentralized startup environment – hungry and willing to roll up your sleeves
